SEO For Small Business

All businesses, even manufacturing companies, need to know a little about SEO. SEO today is the portal through which your business attracts customers from all over the world. And so it’s incredibly important that you get it right.

SEO services often don’t come cheap. And even if you decide to do it by yourself, it can end up costing you a lot in terms of both time and effort. So the question is, is there any way to do SEO on a budget? The answer is a resounding, yes. Here’s how to do it.

Target A Niche Audience

The same principles that apply to business in general apply to SEO in particular. If you don’t want to spend a lot of money on SEO, it’s best to avoid broad brush marketing techniques. Instead, really focus on a small niche of potential customers. This is what makes you relevant to the people who count.

Of course, you’ll need to do a bit of strategic thinking to pull it off. And you’ll also have to know your audience inside out. But if you can do it, it makes the job of SEO a lot cheaper and easier than if you try to please everybody.

Adopt A Hybrid Approach

When it comes to improving your SEO, you essentially have three options. You can either hire out an agency to do the work on your behalf. Or you can hire a freelancer. Or you can do the job yourself. But, when you investigate these options, none of them are truly satisfactory. Agencies tend to produce cookie-cutter proposals that might not suit your business. Freelancers can be unreliable and not up to the job. And doing it yourself means unprofessional results.

Thus, the best solution is to combine some elements of each approach into a hybrid model. By all means, employ an agency to do the technical legwork. But also give your own input to the process. Sure, hire a freelancer. But make sure that you hold conversations with them about what you want regularly. Being more hands-on rather than hands-off is a surefire way to success.

Aim For Quality, Not Quantity

When it comes to SEO, there are two directions in which you can take you site’s content. You can either aim for a large number of poor quality posts. Or you can spend a lot of time working on less extensive, but higher quality, content. But here’s the thing: one incredible post is often worth far more than dozens of low quality posts to SEO.

Use Platforms That Actually Work

There are a plethora of platforms and services out there designed to improve your SEO. Some services manage all your social media accounts all in one place. Some services provide detailed analytics. And some platforms improve communication to mention just a few. The problem is that you have to pay for many of these services. And businesses can often end up paying through the nose for services that aren’t actually helping them. That’s why it’s so important to be critical of how you are spending your money. Ask yourself: Are these services really improving your bottom line?
