You’ve seen the humorous commercials and heard the debate for years. The prevailing wisdom is that Macs are more user friendly, don’t get viruses, and cater to more creative types. And recent integration of Intel chips makes them more compatible. Yet, despite the fact that Mac sales are booming, they still only represent three percent of the market, partly because PCs are generally cheaper, you have more buying choices and vastly more software available compared to Macs. Of course, PC sales have taken a hit recently due to less-than-rave reviews of the new operating system Vista. So if you’re asking yourself, “Should I buy a Mac or a PC?”, here’s some info to help you make an informed choice (and some funny stuff too): |

So you want to put some cool effects on a photo or maybe design your own flyer. But you don’t want to pay nearly $2,000 for the Adobe Creative Suite. Or maybe you want to record some music at home, but $250 for ProTools just isn’t in the band’s budget. Fortunately, some smart and generous people out there enjoy writing programs that do a lot of the same things that the big name brands do, but at a fraction of the price … or better yet, no cost at all. |
