Course Description
If you like to build things with your hands, or like solving problems, Cybercamps Academy is the robotics camp for you. This course is ideal if you like to know how to make things work, crawl, roll, blink, buzz or even think! This course dives deeper than any other robotics camp, giving you a chance to design, assemble and program complex robots that communicate, move and think on their own. During this course we'll break out the totally fun Lego Mindstorm®, and each participant will have their own kit to work on. You'll learn how to build, program and control your robot - making it obey your every command. Then put it to the test in robot maze races, "battlebot" tournaments, and other challenges. You won't find this level of learning all in one super-fun package at any other robotics camp.

Teaching Method
During the week at Cybercamps Academy, you're going to work on your own projects, using our state-of-the-art computers, and with the direct help and guidance of really great staff. Some robotics camps might confine you with a set schedule, but our unique curriculum is self-paced, which means you can go as fast as you want and take your time when you need to.

Robotics is fun no matter what age you are. In fact, robot competitions have become all the rage, even garnering national television coverage. If you are interested in the idea of artificial intelligence, or just like making a machine do the funky chicken dance, then you will want to take this course. If I attend the same course multiple times, will I learn something new?
Without a doubt! Building and programming robots is meaty stuff. We'll help you get through the basics in the first week, but then you take the controls and choose how deep you want to get with your programming and commands.

Be sure to check out our other courses in the programming series. These are the ideal courses if you want to program a robot, write computer programs, or write software packages. You don't have to be a computer science major to have major fun in these courses, though. All you really need is a deep sense of curiosity, a little bit of patience, and a take-no-prisoners attitude when it comes to robot wars!
Recommended Programming Tracks
For some kids, robotics camp or programming camp can't be limited to just one week. Cybercamps Academy has developed a special multi-week track in programming that gives you a truly immersive experience using industry standard software like Visual Studio C++ 2005 Express®, and the Lego Mindstorms® robot.
This multi-week track offers you the chance to do it all - at least on the surface. With this track you really could spend several weeks in each course to fully understand the topic (which isn't really a bad idea). Add in new friends, loads of fun with new friends, and staff that work with you, and you've got a great summer planned. It's a total package you won't find at any other robotics camp or programming camp.
